Power Rangers Megaforce Gosei Morpher Phrases

Power Rangers Megaforce Gosei Morpher released last week on Amazon.  The morpher contains over 180 phrases from Power Rangers Megaforce, Power Rangers Super Megaforce, and the past seasons of Power Rangers.  The TCG Mode also provides 24+ phrases for the Power Rangers Action Card Game.

Gosei Phrase App

I have been working on an online application that will assist in the process for finding new barcodes.  razzle1337 (Twitter) has invested the past few days into finding phrases using the Gosei and Dice-O cards.  He has been generous enough to provide his master list for the application as well as test the generated card sheets.  I did some research into the existing cards and found a bytecode pattern that made it easier to understand the phrase data storage in the Gosei Morpher.  The barcode has two primary sets of bits: left side is a dynamic set of 10-bits with two static bits (0 for the first bit and 1 for the last bit) and right side is the static set of bits.  Both sets of bits are required for translating the barcode.  With this information, I was able to determine that there are 1,024 possible barcode values for the morpher.  Most of the phrases are sorted by seasons, starting with Power Rangers Megaforce, followed by Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, and the remaining Power Rangers Seasons.  A few of the cards are out of order, but the season order is fairly consistent. Elephant (Rangerboard) found a fantastic pattern by removing the final two bits to reveal an ordered list for 0-182.  The final bits can be determined by four possible values (00, 01, 10, and 11).  I have calculated the remaining possible positions and uploaded the results to RangerCrew.

One thing to keep in mind is that the Cards are not confirmation that we will see the particular Ranger(s) in the season.  The cards were designed for the Gosei Morpher toy and the Action Card Game.   Stay tuned for more information on the app.
