Power Rangers Megaforce is the next season of Power Rangers. The season will celebrate the 20th anniversary of
Power Rangers in 2013. The Official Press Release has confirmed that Power Rangers Megaforce will be based on Goseiger.

Power Rangers Megaforce will be a completely new and original storyline based on 5 high school teenagers saving the world. The show will continue to use Sentai footage, but the story will be
original. This will be the anniversary season. Power Rangers Megaforce will surprise fans. The 2014 season will also be “crazy”.
Robo Knight (also known as GoseiKnight from Goseiger) will make an early appearance in the show. An article in Kidscreen confirms that historic Rangers will make an appearance in Power Rangers Megaforce. Thanks goes to Tommy Lawson (RangerCrew) for finding the article.

The second season, also known as Power Rangers Super Megaforce, will feature Gokaiger content. There is no confirmation whether the Gokaiger suits and morphers will be used to morph into the past rangers. We may see
Goseiger suits in both seasons. The Legend War will be shown in Megaforce. In the two marketing teasers that I saw, I noticed two easter eggs: Gokaioh and the Legend War.

Five high school students are called upon by the all-knowing Gosei to defeat a new evil determined to destroy planet Earth. They will become Power Rangers Megaforce. Using their cards, they will unlock all-new weapons, zords, and megazords. The battle has never been greater. The villains have never been more dangerous. And the Power Rangers have never been so strong.

Unlike Power Rangers Samurai, there will be last names and a city name in Power Rangers: Megaforce.

The mentor’s name is Gosei, which was named based on the fact that the cards have the word “Gosei”. We may be seeing the return of the Goseiger Cards. No confirmation on new cards, but we may be seeing them if Power Rangers Megaforce is a hybrid.

Admiral Malkor, Vrak, and Creepox are three of the primary villain names. Bandai Booth at Power Morphicon confirmed Vrak is the first form of Brajira. The Summary from Papercutz’s Power Rangers Megaforce Graphic Novel confirmed the name Admiral Malkor (Mon Drake from Goseiger). Admiral Mothron was the placeholder name for Mon Drake. The foot soliders will be called Loogies. Creepox is the current name for Dereputa (Goseiger).

Gosei and Tensou will be original characters. They will not be the sentai counterpart (Master and Datas).  Gosei will resemble the head design used on the Gosei Morpher.  The Power Rangers Megaforce Hot Wheels Action Set confirms that Gosei is based on Gosei Ultimate’s head design.  For more information, read the announcement at RangerCrew Blog.

Power Rangers Megaforce follows the adventures of a supernatural guardian, Gosei, who summons the help of five teenagers, the Power Rangers Megaforce, to battle the evil Warstar aliens who have launched a massive invasion.

Power Rangers Megaforce premieres early 2013 with 22 episodes including holiday specials. The second season of Power Rangers: Megaforce will have the same number of episodes.

Power Rangers Megaforce Graphic Novels

Papercutz will be releasing two Power Rangers Megaforce Graphic Novels next year. Power Rangers Megaforce Issue 3 “Gamer’s End” will be released in January and Issue 4 “Panic in the Parade” will be released in April. You can pre-order both issues on Amazon. The cover and descriptions confirms a few names, including the placeholder name Theo and Admiral Mothron as the primary villain. For more information, check out the Graphics Novels page.

Issue 3 “Gamer’s End” Ranger Noah heads to a gaming con to cheer one of his buddies. But Creepox is there, and he lures Noah into a back room to show him a new video game that looks suspiciously like the convention floor. Unfortunately for the Rangers, it is not a game at all – the fight is on, and it’s being unwittingly controlled by their friend!

Issue 4 “Panic in the Parade” Why is the Yellow Ranger missing while her friends engage in an epic showdown with one of Admiral Mothron’s minions? Is the villain somehow using the most innocent Ranger as part of an even deadlier plan?

Teams from Saban Brands and Bandai pose with Megaforce Power Rangers in front of Saban Brands’ booth at the International Licensing Expo, held June 12-14, at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas, NV. Saban Brands announced at the show that Power Rangers Megaforce will premiere in 2013 and will air as Saban Brands celebrates the 20th Anniversary of the Power Rangers franchise.

Rangers from each of the 19 seasons of Power Rangers assembled at the Saban Brands Summit, held June 11 at the Four Seasons, Las Vegas, NV. Saban Brands will power up in 2013, celebrating the property’s 20th anniversary and airing Power Rangers Megaforce, the next installment of the series.

2 Power Rangers Megaforce Marketing Promos were shown at Licensing Expo. One of them was a generic Power Rangers promo, which featured Power Rangers Megaforce and the Legend War. The second promo is a two minute teaser of Power Rangers Megaforce with Sentai footage. The promo introduces a few of the Power Rangers seasons, including Power Rangers Samurai. The Gokaioh is featured in this promo for a brief moment.

In our inteview with Saban Brands, they confirmed that Saban Brands will be making a MEGA appearance at Power Morphicon. Attendees will have the opportunity to watch the first Power Rangers Megaforce teaser and meet the new cast members of Power Rangers Megaforce. Stay tuned for more updates during the event.

Saban Brands will host the Saban Brands Panel on August 18th. The panel will preview of the upcoming Power Rangers Super Samurai episodes, a Q & A with the Super Samurai cast and a sneak peak at the new Power Rangers Megaforce series, followed by a special announcement.

Ciara Hanna has been selected to be the Yellow Megaforce Power Ranger.

Andrew Gray will be playing the role of the Red Megaforce Power Ranger.

DarkBlaze (RangerCrew)’s sources have confirmed that John Mark and Christina Masterson will be the new Blue and Pink Megaforce Power Rangers.

Congratulations to Ciara Hanna, Andrew Gray, John Mark, Azim Rizk, and Christina Masterson for joining the Power Rangers Megaforce Cast.

The casting process is complete. 2,600+ candidates auditioned for the show. The production team has been pretty picky this year to ensure we get a great, interactive cast. Filming should will take place later this year. Power Rangers Megaforce Title Confirmed

DarkBlaze (RangerCrew) found an article with the confirmed name. The article briefly mentions about other plans that Saban Brands has for the anniversary season, including interactions with veteran fans. I’m looking forward to seeing Saban Brands’ execution of this idea.

Next year will mark the landmark 20th Anniversary of the Power Rangers brand, an occasion for which Saban Brands is already deep in preparation. Plans for the anniversary include a new series, “Power Rangers MEGAFORCE.”

Saban Brands plans to embrace the series’ cross-generational appeal during the anniversary by celebrating its past as well as its present and future.

Older fans will be able to participate in special events and online activities, while new products and the new show will attract younger fans.

“We’re in an exciting place as a brand. We look at the 20th anniversary not just as a celebration of the past, but as our entry into a third decade,” Dekel says.

With new series launching every two years that reinvent the brand and change its theme, Power Rangers looks to remain a force in children’s entertainment. “Just like our audience, we’re constantly reinventing ourselves, Dekel adds. “We can honestly say that after 20 years, this isn’t a fluke – kids really do identify with and engage with this show.”

Power Rangers Megaforce Toys

The Power Rangers Megaforce toy line will be available early 2013. The Megazord is currently named “Megazord”…plain and simple. The Megaforce Tokyo Vinyl Figures will cost $10.99. All these toys release in 2013. Bajira is named Vrak and the footsoldiers are called Loogies. Two cycles were named as Sky and Skyon Cycles. The Bandai rep informed us that the Zord toys will integrate with the current Power Rangers Samurai and Super Samurai Zord Builder concept. Click on the images for the high resolution photos.
